TKP's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Zach Carpenter as our new President. Zach brings a dynamic leadership style and a strong professional background that will guide TKP, our teams in both the United States and Kenya, and the communities we serve into our next phase of growth and impact.
Over the last five years, Zach has played an integral role in shaping TKP's finance and construction operations, while strengthening partnerships and donor engagement. Since Zach joined the team, TKP has grown to serve junior secondary students (grades 7-9) and has invested more than $760,000 in permanent infrastructure, including classrooms, teacher housing, and clean water wells. Additionally, Zach led the transformation of TKP's financial systems to ensure operational efficiency, financial transparency, and visibility to the public.
Prior to joining TKP, Zach worked in the financial services industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Analysis from Colorado State University.
We look forward to Zach's leadership as he continues to drive TKP's mission forward with passion and vision.
I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead TKP into its next chapter. Our mission to build rising futures in a community that I've grown to admire is both inspiring and deeply motivating. Over the last five years, I've seen first-hand the impact of education and health investments in rural Kenya. Education is the path to an enriched life, and it is a privilege to contribute to this transformative work. I am excited to step into this role, advancing our impact, and celebrating our accomplishments together. Thank you for your support and unwavering dedication to our mission. - Zach Carpenter
Born and raised: Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado
Currently calls home: Laramie, Wyoming
When I’m not working, you can find me: Playing outside, aspiring to be a home chef, running around with my dog, Tucker, traveling somewhere new with my wife, Morgan, and frequently on a bicycle- whether it’s leisure, racing, or coaching high schoolers.
My friends would describe me as: Optimistic, charismatic, enthusiastic
(your team agrees, Zach!)
What I’ve learned about working with a team: A team thrives when everyone’s voice is heard. Relationships are at the core of what we do!
Why I love TKP: Our model of community partnership! We prioritize and celebrate the perspectives of those closest to the issues we aim to address. We’ve succeeded in this model, and through partnership our students achieve great outcomes. I love that each team member cares deeply about our students, and it shows. A day in Kilgoris will change your life!
