Dear TKP Family, 

Wishing you a Merry Christmas season from Kilgoris! I'm writing with wonderful news on behalf of TKP's leadership team in Kilgoris. As you may know, our students take the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) Exam at the end of 8th grade. A passing score on this exam ensures that students advance to high school.

I'm proud to share that 100% of our 8th grade students passed the exam in 2023! Over the next several weeks, our team will work to ensure that ALL 74 students are placed in high schools, from local to national level, based on their exam scores. The culture of TKP is one of success, and we continue this proud tradition of 100% of students transitioning to high school. 

I'd like to highlight the 32 students from TKP's Oltikampu Primary School, who achieved a mean score of 320–the highest in TKP's history. Congratulations!

Many of these students are orphans or in very vulnerable situations. It is through YOUR partnership with TKP that they continue to succeed academically. Without your financial support, we couldn’t provide highly qualified teachers, meals and medical care for our students, and special opportunities like field trips and enrichment clubs. Thank you!

I'd also like to thank our teachers and staff who partnered to ensure the success of our students.

Capping Off the Year

Bright-colored caps and gowns, nonstop celebrating and dancing, beaming smiles... Graduation season at TKP schools is monumental for the Kilgoris community. This October, TKP's eighth graduating class celebrated their incredible achievement alongside proud parents, teachers, and staff. Our eighth-grade graduates represent years of hard work, commitment, and generosity on TKP's two largest campuses—Intimigom (42 graduates) and Oltikampu (31 graduates). At the same time, our Preschool 2 graduates represent the beginning of a strong educational journey ahead at Intimigom (43 graduates) and Oltikampu (35 graduates).

Many of these students have been with TKP since preschool—that means your generosity transcends time and impacts families forever. 

Here's a glimpse of your impact:

• 73 8th grade graduates across both campuses– 100% accepted to high school

• 78 preschool graduates advancing to 1st grade

• 11 girls in the Intimigom graduating class are the first women in their families to attend school

From investing in preschoolers just learning their alphabet and numbers to eighth graders advancing to high school, you are making a life-changing impact in rural Kenya.

Empowering Girls, Transforming Communities

As we celebrate International Day of the Girl this month, it is with great joy that we look back on the amazing journey we've taken together in the pursuit of education and empowerment for every girl. 

Did you know ... 55% of TKP students are girls?

Your partnership is unlocking opportunities for a greater part of the TKP student body. Most of the bright young girls enrolled in TKP schools are the first women in their families to receive an opportunity for education. Your investment in TKP is changing the trajectory of future generations. 

Your 2023 Impact

• 150 girls stayed in school because of access to menstruation support 

• 100% of TKP graduate girls accepted to university, college or post-secondary training program 

• Hundreds of girls participating in enrichment programs for further leadership and educational opportunities

Oloilalei's New Classroom Block Grand Opening

TKP's Oloilalei campus is now home to a newly constructed six-classroom building. Oloilalei's new classroom block provides space for this campus to grow for years to come. Students explored their new classrooms as teachers here welcomed students from preschool to third grade back to school in January 2023.

In February 2023, the TKP staff and Oloilalei community gathered to celebrate the grand opening with full, grateful hearts. Take a look at the snapshots from this special day!
