The kilgoris project (TKP) & Hillside christian Church’s (HCC) partnership
Hillside Christian Church’s goal is to support TKP’s mission through impacting the lives of Kilgoris students, teachers, and families. HCC’s student ministry will bring a glimpse of Kenya to their summer camp by presenting videos, student testimonials, and photos to highlight the impact of HCC’s partnership with TKP. We want the students of HCC to connect with the students of Kilgoris! HCC Camp will be a wonderful time for students to join in this generous partnership. Here is your chance to make a difference!
The hillside camp will fund:
Solar panels at the Nentekeny classroom block to help bring technology into the classroom for learning
Choos (toilets) and handwashing stations at Nentekeny campus
Construction of a cafeteria assembly pavilion at Nentekeny campus
History of the TKP & Hcc Partnership
Hillside Christian Church began their financial partnership with TKP several years ago, but in 2018 and 2019 they invested in TKP’s most emergent needs of a water well at Nentekeney campus and a church building at Oloilale campus, which operates as TKP’s school building during the week. During this time, HCC student ministries sent teams and leaders to Kilgoris to see their investments come to life and conduct enriching classroom activities for students, participate in the opening of the water well and pray for the congregation of Oloilale. HCC’s mission reached fulfillment as they laid bricks with verses of hope and love as the foundation of the Winds of Grace Church. HCC’s students also had the incredible opportunity to share the gospel by going home-to-home in the Winds of Grace Church (TKP’s campus ministry) communities, meeting children and families in their own homes.
About The kilgoris project
For more than twenty years, The Kilgoris Project (TKP) has served rural Kenya through an innovative model that brings exceptional education, health care, and employment resources to the Maasai community. We partner with churches, families, and the local community to operate 12 schools, provide daily food and clean water to students, and run a sustainable farm to provide breakfast and lunch to our students. Through our Winds of Grace ministries, we work with local churches and pastors to minister, teach the gospel and build stronger, faith-driven communities.
TKP creates a strong foundation of early childhood and primary education, getting children into school at the right age, and keeping them there with holistic programs to address educational, health care, and nutritional needs. The Kilgoris Project serves 1,775 students, preschool through eighth grade, in the small, rural town of Kilgoris, Kenya. Kenyan-trained teachers lead small classes and have access to teaching materials, classroom supplies, and a library of books on e-readers.
Students, families, and the school community are shining in this rural village because of the life-changing impact that The Kilgoris Project and our partners are creating.
